BUDO CAMP 2016

Saturday 3rd September was the first day of the camp with Budonians arriving at Budo Junior School. We were received and taken on a guided tour by the Director of Studies Mr. David Lule. We were shown around the entire School premises and emphasis the on-going projects for example the storeyed classroom block whose top floor is now being used by the upper primary (P6 &P7) pupils, the sickbay that is being run by the class of 1995 and the public toilets by the class of 1987.

We then proceeded to King’s College, Budo for lunch in the 1908 Mackay Memorial Workshop now school dinning hall (Mess). There was a tour around the hill from the upper school through the cricket field, sickbay, farm, playing fields, swimming pool, girls end, golf course and finalized the tour at the Triangle (Canada, England & Ghana) houses. The campers were all to be housed in England house for the night; they were allowed to bring the cars near the triangle & behind the art room. The campers then had time to swim till 7pm when supper was due. The campers were further treated to barbeque roasts after the sumptuous supper which they enjoyed over a bonfire. Several drinks were availed as memories, and music flowed all the way till about 2am when the last campers resigned to bed.

Sunday 4th September started off with morning trot at 6:30am. This was attended by a few as many failed to get up due to a late night. The main event of this day was the chapel service which was held after a signature Sunday bread and egg breakfast. The service was started at about 10:00am and went on to 1pm. The hymns were classical and even so the great sermon by one of our own Mr. Elon Katweheyo. A group photo was taken after the service and later a much deserved tasty lunch. 2pm marked the end of the Camp 2016 and start of the OBUC gala 2016……
